Aims

Here at Mount St. Michael’s we aim to:-

  • Create an atmosphere which is conducive to learning, which reflects the values and beliefs of the catholic community and which promotes a living catholic faith.
  • Help each child develop to their full potential academically, socially, physically and emotionally.
  • Help children realise that they each have a valued contribution to make to school, home and community life thereby helping them to grow in self esteem and respect for others.
  • Provide a broad and balanced curriculum which offers a wide variety of experiences, which promotes the development of I.C.T. skills and which satisfies the demands of the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
  • Help children develop an understanding of their own culture and promote respect and understanding for that of others.
  • Make children aware of their local and wider environment and of the effect which their actions can have on both.
  • Foster communication and good working relationships between all members of the school community.
  • Help pupils and staff to see themselves as an integral part of the local community.  Help children grow in responsibility, self-discipline and independence.
  • Foster links with the secondary level schools to which we contribute.
