P3 Trip to Shane’s Castle
Our P3 children had a wonderful outdoor learning experience during their recent visit to Shane’s Castle. The day was filled with adventure, imagination, and exploration as they immersed themselves in nature and storytelling.
The highlight of the trip was listening to The Stickman Story, which captured the children’s imaginations and set the tone for the day. Inspired by the tale, each child found their very own “Stick Man” to take on a journey through the forest. This activity encouraged creativity, storytelling, and a sense of connection with the natural world.
As part of their adventure, the children worked together to build houses for their Stick Men using natural materials found in the forest. This hands-on task promoted teamwork, problem-solving, and an appreciation for outdoor play.
Throughout the day, the children were encouraged to observe and listen carefully to the sights and sounds of nature. They watched out for wildlife, noticed changes in the environment, and learned to be respectful and curious explorers.
The trip to Shane’s Castle was a fantastic opportunity for our P3 pupils to engage with nature, develop their storytelling skills, and enjoy learning beyond the classroom. We are proud of how enthusiastically they participated and how thoughtfully they interacted with their surroundings.
